Colin’s life is soccer, started varsity for his hs team, plays travel ball all while being almost blind in his eye. He is an amazing keeper!

My son loves the intensity and challenge of being a goalkeeper—the pressure, the responsibility, and the thrill of protecting the goal. He thrives on the teamwork, the competition, and the constant opportunity to improve. But most of all, he loves that soccer gives him a sense of purpose and joy—it’s where he feels most confident, alive, and truly himself.
My Pop pop. He was diagnosed with Leukemia three years ago and has fought a hard battle, chemo, radiation, and plasma transplant and is still here today. While he tells everyone he is my biggest fan the truth is I am in awe of him and how strong he is. He has never given up and fought against it all to be there for his family. He is amazing and I hope to be just like him when I am an adult.
The one moment in my son’s athletic journey that I’m most proud of isn’t tied to a single game or moment, but the determination my son shows every time he steps in goal. Despite being nearly blind in his one eye and playing on three teams, he never gives up. When others would quit, he pushes harder—resilient, driven, and always striving to improve. Even walking the dogs, he’s got a ball with him. His heart and dedication inspire me every day.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
