He trains hard and plays harder. Up at 5am and gives it his all. His love for the game shows and this is why he's Athlete of the Year.

On the basketball court, anyone that has accomplished what Cordarius has set for himself. His goal is to play Division 1 basketball while receiving his education in Engineering and than go to the NBA draft. Someone before him has done it already, so it can be done. Off the court, his mom and dad work ethic and drive for success. They both work had to provide what was not provided to them when they played sports for Cordarius and his siblings.
His high school team was playing one the city rivals, his older brother who is also on the team got fouled out and as he walked off the court, Cordarius said to him " we not losing I got you bro". We were down and he scored and got us into overtime and scored additional points in overtime to win the game. To watch him go and hug his brother and celebrate with him was the best part of that game.
