What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What I love most about football is the grind. Nothing is earned you have to work for everything. It feels better knowing I put in the time, effort, and discipline to earn my spot instead of having anything handed to me.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My mom and dad inspire me because they work hard every day. My mom runs her own business and still makes time for everything. My dad is a laborer and he just gets the job done. Seeing how much they do motivates me to keep going and give my best, on and off the field.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One moment that made me the proudest was when Cortland was chosen as team captain during his 2nd year of playing football. I’ve always seen his leadership qualities, but knowing his coaches saw it too and trusted him with that role confirmed that he’s a true leader.
