Baseball is more than just a game for him; it’s his passion and way of life. When he steps onto the field, a fire ignites within him, making everything else feel unimportant. He thrives on the competition, loves being part of a team and making lifelong friendships. He loves the sound of the ball hitting the bat, the umpire calling strike as he pitches another, but above all, he values having fun, his greatest reason for embracing the game.
His biggest inspiration is our Heavenly Father. He knows that with his unwavering love and guidance, he will be the best version of himself.
During one particular game, when the opposing team called for a timeout. I observed him sharing laughter & engaging in conversation with a player from the other team. Their connection was genuine, filled with enjoyment & camaraderie. When I later pointed this out to him, he said “it’s not fun to fight with them; it’s just a game & we may 1 day end up playing for the same team.” In that moment I realized I was not just watching him play; I was witnessing him transform into a remarkable young man.
