I would say his siblings inspire Croix both on and off the field. He has two older siblings who are athletes, and they’ve instilled positive values in him that guide how he carries himself everywhere. They always remind him that you never know who’s watching, and your behavior reflects your family. Their motto to him is to treat people the way you want to be treated.
I remember when his team was down by one point with 21 seconds left. He got fouled really hard and busted his lip, so he had to leave the game. They called in a player who rarely played but was a good shooter. The player froze at the free-throw line. My son went over, whispered something in his ear, tapped him on the back, and walked away. He made both free throws. When I asked my son what he said, he told me, “I told him I believe in you. You’re a great shooter.”
