He loves football because it instills discipline, demands hard work, and rewards dedication. A big word in our home is accountability. As a quarterback, you're not only accountable for yourself, but for the entire offense. It’s a role that requires leadership, focus, and the ability to own every decision on the field. I like the pressure.
Cruz is inspired by his specialty coaches and his dad. One of his coaches is a Super Bowl champion who played for the NY Giants. Being that we are NY Giants family it is extra special to have these amazing role models coach Cruz. He hopes to be a role model like his coaches.
Always looking back to prior training videos and game film and seeing the progress he has made. Whether it is a year prior or a week prior, it is paramount to improve 1% better each day. He has scored many touchdowns but it is the self less actions like blocking as wide receiver or chasing down someone 70 yards and catching them on the 1 yard line that stand out more.
