What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He loves the challenge of trying new things and learning cool skills at practice, then using them during real games. It’s exciting for him to take what he learned and make it count on the field. He also really enjoys being part of a team, laughing, helping each other, and working together like a family. Winning feels great, but what he loves most is getting better and having fun with his teammates every step of the way.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

His parents inspire him because they always cheer him on and help him be the best version of himself. They wake up early, stay up late, take him to practice, and train with him too. They work hard to help him reach his goals. When he feels down after a tough game, they remind him it’s not about winning or losing but it’s about learning and growing. Their love and support make him feel strong, and he wants to make them proud by never giving up and always giving his all.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One big moment in Damari’s athletic journey was his first year running track, when he qualified for districts and regionals. Even though he didn’t make it to the Junior Olympics, he gave it everything he had and finished with a personal record. That showed how hard he worked. On the walk to the car, he told himself he’d make it next time. I was proud that he didn’t feel sad or give up, instead he turned it into motivation to train harder and come back even stronger next season.
