Danye loves all sports but particularly football and basketball-plays year-round. Football is his first passion because it's fun. Danye's played with balls since he's been 2, practicing skills and drills on vacations and year -round with family and grandmas. Danye loves that his hands touch the ball every play. Danye loves being a leader/captain because he's in control of his team and for same reason as above. Danye loves point guard b/c I see his football leadership carry over to the court.
Michael Jordan and Tom Brady, both for their work ethic and level that they achieved in sports, their exceptional careers. Danye recalls Michael Jordan's game where he played with the flu and how he triumphed and had a great game, leading the team. Tom Brady for his exceptional work ethic, always practicing/studying plays and being the first one at practice and to stay late to practice. Tom Brady was confident in himself even when others weren't. Danye uses the grocery store to practice too!
There are a lot of defining moments, but if I had to choose one, here it is: my pick six late in my flag football championship game, to win the game. Down by five points, late in the championship, my pick as a defensive player allowed us to win the championship. This highlighted that not only am I the quarterback, but my defensive skills and the persistence to not give up and believe, made it happen. Just gotta believe and not give up.
