You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
Darryn loves playing football for the competition but also loves the team unity and family piece that the coaches implemented in the program. The team meals, sharing goals and personal thoughts with his teammates and the bonds that he has made. Darryn loves the full team aspect of the game. Everyone has to do their part to be successful and are all working towards the same common goals.
Talking with my son, he said that I have inspired him as his father. His why is because watching me over the years and coaching him, he has learned how to work hard, face disappointment and build a strong foundation. He wants to follow my footsteps and continue to play football. Playing football is only part of it. He is interested in pursuing coaching as well, to have the impact on others that I have had. He also mentioned the opportunities he has had to improve himself.
First and foremost his personal relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through injuries and always being the youngest player on the team, he shows up. His grit and determination is tremendous. Darryn shows up and encourages others to be better and helps his teammates as much as he can. He shows up for himself, by getting up at 430am during the school year and working out in the garage, through pushing himself in physical therapy and continuing to stay on top of his academics.
