You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
Being a good teammate, cheering for his team and other players on the opposing team, and having fun! On the field and in the batters box he is in his happy place. Dawson overcomes daily obstacles because of his disability and even though things are hard for him, he always gives his very best on the field with a smile. Dawson loves to share his joy for the game by yelling to his mom, dad, mom mom, pop pop, and Aunt Nay after a great play or hit.
Any Chicago Cubs player but most specifically Nico Hoerner. He loves cheering him on and practices playing 2nd base with Nico’s playing style. He also loves Nico’s generosity and a highlight Dawson holds onto is the game he attended where Nico tossed a ball in the stands that Dawson was able to get and plays with every day!
Our proudest moment has to be the fact that Dawson never gives up. He has to work harder than anyone else because of his syndrome, but it never discourages him. He plays the field, loves hitting, and he always try’s his best to be a great teammate. We are so proud of his impact on others. Dawson proves why he is the strongest person we know every day on and off the field! He made some amazing catches in the field this year and when someone else makes a play he is the first to congratulate them!
