Thank you for generously supporting Deacon in this year’s competition. Your support helps empower the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Why Not You Foundation in their respective missions to save lives and empower today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
Deacon loves the atmosphere created by the energy of the fans and that carries to the field in football. When it comes to wrestling, Deacon loves winning and learning what he can accomplish with hard work. Wrestling is his favorite sport because it provides more opportunities to compete. Deacon loves the teamwork that comes with playing rugby.
Deacon doesn’t usually focus or ponder who to look up to. His biggest competitor is himself. Always focused on improving his skills to help him excel at the sport he is participating in. He says, if he has to choose someone to be an inspiration, it would be Michael Phelps because he dominated his sport.
There are so many moments that make me proud, it’s hard to narrow down to just one. Deacon faces sports like a job he enjoys and his character is probably what I’m most proud of. When he loses he doesn’t get defeated. He shakes his opponents hand and uses the experience to improve by analyzing film and studying techniques that will improve his game or match. He is humble and never becomes overly expressive of his wins. He knows that his hard work got him there.
