Receive Text UpdatesHe loves playing hockey because he gets to skate fast and be part of a team. It's fun when they work together and cheer each other on. In soccer, he likes running and trying to score goals. He idolizes Messi, and so he works really hard with his foot work maneuvers and how to strategize getting around the older players. In baseball he feels proud when he hits the ball far. He enjoys learning new things and improving. He loves to cheer on his teammates and have fun no matter what!
Deakin's younger brothers really inspire him because they always tell him to try his best and never give up. He wants to model a positive role for them, so he is always engaging with them, and displaying his hard work efforts, showing them how to have fun while being kind to other players.
One moment as a parent that really makes me proud, is watching him on the ice, the diamond, or the field, and when others make comments about his positive sportsmanship or his skill, I really feel like I am doing my best to help guide him. I love watching him give it his best, always, and how he helps others bounce back after a tough moment. His kindness and skill shine through and he truly is passionate about the sports, and it's not just about scoring goals or winning games.
