You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
What Dean loves the most about playing the sport is the fact that every single day he has something new to learn whether it’s a skill or a workout to help him stay in shape and grow to be a better player. Dean says that what he loves the most about the sport is the fact that it teaches you how it’s not about winning but about doing your best on the field and having a great time. Baseball to dean is his life. He practices every single day and will continue to do so!
What inspires Dean the most is his family his mom and dad push him every day to become the best version of himself and show him that hard work pays off. Dean also says one of his inspirations is his diabetes. Instead of making him upset it pushes him to work out and be in shape for that. The diagnosis doesn’t change the fact that he could be just as great as anyone else.
One of the moments that made me the proudest in his athletic journey is when he said that his diagnosis of being type 1 wasn’t going to stop him! That showed me that I am raising a fighter and not a quitter, then no matter how hard life gets he will push through and I have no doubt in my mind that that’s what Dean would do each and every time in both life and baseball!
