Receive Text UpdatesDeaughn loves the challenge of baseball and competing against older kids. He loves the feeling of hitting the ball hard, making big plays, and helping his team win. He enjoys learning something new every day, working hard to get better, and seeing his practice pay off in games. Most of all, he loves being on the field with his teammates, having fun, and playing the game he loves with joy and confidence every time he steps out there.
Deaughn is inspired by his dad Devaughn, who teaches him to work hard, stay positive, and never give up, no matter how tough it gets. He sees how his dad helps others and shows up daily, which makes Deaughn want to do the same. He’s also inspired by Elly De La Cruz’s energy and Ohtani’s skills, reminding him to have fun, hustle, and believe he can do anything on the field.
One proud moment was when Deaughn, at just 7 years old, got called up to play in a 12U game. He didn’t back down, played with confidence, and held his own against kids much older than him. Watching him step up, compete, and show heart on the field that day showed his love for the game and his fearless spirit, making me incredibly proud.
