What I love the most about playing sports is making friends and building my confidence. I like being part of a team and working together to win. Even when we loose, I still feel proud that we tried our best. Bmx and wrestling also pushes me at a personal level. I can work on individual goals and I am in charge of the outcome. It pushes me to want to work harder to be my best.
My mom inspires me on and off the field. She always supports me, comes to my games, tournaments, and races. She even started racing BMX with me to help me increase my confidence and spend time with me even though I’m racing. She reminds me to never give up, even when things are hard. She works really hard everyday but still makes time for me and makes sure I get to all my practices and events. I know it’s a lot of money but she does everything she can to make sure I enjoy each sport.
One of my proudest moments is when I sacked a quarterback for the first time. I had been working really hard on my strength, speed and tackles and during the game I just lowered my shoulder and went for it. It felt amazing to help my team and to hear everyone cheer for me. It’s how I got the nickname “freight train”.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
