Derek has been playing baseball since he could walk. He also plays football and has lettered in both as a sophomore. He maintains 3.95 GPA.

The thing I love most about playing my sport is competing against others, whether I succeed or not. I feel like just being able to get after it and compete is one of the best parts of playing.
My biggest inspiration is my family. I work as hard as I can everyday for them because I want to repay them for giving me the opportunity to play the sports I love.
It is too difficult to pick just one moment. When watching Derek on the field in either baseball or football, it is awesome to see him make those plays that seem like web gem moments. I love to see his clutch defense and amazing catches in the outfield. In the same token, I love when he gets an interception and makes game-changing tackles. He has burst speed that makes him an elite defender.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
