Derrick says being a football player and a good person is inspirational. His biggest dream is to become a motivational speaker. He wants to be great on and off the field so that he can live the life of what he feels a true athlete is!
Derrick says his mom inspires him most. Because despite her having him young she still managed to finish college and continue to fight for a better life. He watched her work tirelessly and never give up even when the odds were stacked against her.
What makes me proud of Derrick’s athletic journey is that despite having hard times financially and watching his big brother struggle with mental illness, Derrick still shows up to every practice and every game, with a smile on his face and plays his heart out.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
