I love football because it pushes me past my limits. Every hit, every sprint, every play—it’s a chance to prove I belong. Playing at Gilman means something: it’s pride, tradition, and being part of a team that feels like family. I’m trusted to hold the line, and I take that seriously. I love the discipline, the intensity, and the grind. Most of all, I love showing up every day and knowing I gave everything I had.
On and off the field, it’s my mom who inspires me the most. She does everything—works hard, holds us down, and somehow still finds ways to make sure my brother and I get the best schools, experiences, and chances to grow. Football teaches discipline, but she’s shown me sacrifice. She’s the reason I push through pain, stay focused, and dream big. Whether I’m on the line or off it, I carry everything she’s taught me—with pride.
Watching my son play varsity as a freshman and realize he wasn’t the biggest or strongest out there was powerful. He didn’t back down—instead, he committed to getting stronger all year. From disciplined workouts to focused meals, he’s been all in. Seeing him grow mentally and physically, preparing for this season with grit and self-respect, makes me proud beyond words. He’s becoming the young man he’s dreamed of being—one rep at a time.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
