What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Things you learn in sports don’t just apply in sports, they apply in life. Sports have made me a better player and person. Sports have given me confidence on the field, in the classroom & life in general. Its taught me to be a leader & show respect to the people. Ive learned that adversity will always come up, & no matter what, that mountain is never too tall. I can have a blast & meet a ton of amazing people, and also learn things about myself, the sport, other people, & importantly life

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My mom & my teammates. My mom’s the strongest person I know, shes gone through adversity. She always puts me & my brothers playing sports ahead of her because she knows it helps us to become better people. She teaches me to embrace my femininity while also trucking over an opponent. My teammates, playing with people who are like me or even better, always strives me to push myself. To be better for me, but also for them. I have learned these past few years of playing sports that it is a privilege

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I started played sports with boys in 2023. Most people dont understand how hard that can be. As an Indigenous woman, Im almost always a part of the minority on teams, which is one of the toughest things to overcome. Ive had to deal with sexist & racist people while playing the sport I love. That makes me the proudest though, adversity is always around. What matters is if you try to overcome it or just let yourself slide down the mountain. Sports have made me become physically & mentally stronger
