You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
Easton is very good at playing the sport of baseball and understands the rules which is one reason he enjoys playing so much. In 10U and 11U he transitioned from a one inning relief pitcher to a Sunday starter. He continues to develop command of the zone and increase his strike rate percentage. Another reason for Easton’s love for the sport is that on his current baseball team he has many friends that he also goes to school with.
Easton is inspired most by his dad who played baseball through college. His words of encouragement, taking time in the evenings to go hit balls or practice pitching is a regular occurrence in the backyard or at a ballpark somewhere. Easton’s been playing baseball for 7 years starting with t-ball when he was 5.
Throwing his first no hitter this past spring is his proudest moment. This was achieved with hard practices and encouragement from family, the coaches and the team. As a parent, my proudest moment(s) is him showing his ability to adapt/adjust every time he is part of a new team or playing as a guest player without knowing anyone. He is able to set his nerves aside, join in and get his job done, which can be difficult for 9, 10, 11 year old boys.
