You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
Edniya loves being able to show her leadership and help others on her team. She loves training and the accomplishment she feels when her dedication shows in games. Basketball has always been her way of expressing herself and is something that she feels great doing. Even on off days she wants to go to the gym and if that’s not available then she works out/exercises with what she has. She loves when her hard work is recognized and she is rewarded for it.
On the court she is inspired by her teammates. When she sees her teammates working hard and improving, it pushes her to work even harder. Off the court she is inspired by Steph Curry because despite being considered smaller than other players he worked hard to get to where he is now. She is also smaller than most players so this shows her that her height is not a disadvantage.
Edniya doesn’t give up . She sees a challenge as a way to get better and overcome adversity. Being a shorter player she uses her quickness and IQ to her advantage ranking her #1 in the state of Tennessee for the most steals. That is a huge accomplishment.
