Eli love’s competition! Playing both football and basketball gives him a sense of purpose and freedom to be himself. In football he thrives on teamwork and strategy. Basketball lets him be more spontaneous, making fast paced decisions and being creative. Both sports give him a chance to stay active, make lifelong friends and learn discipline.
What inspires Eli on and off the field or court is his drive to become the best version of himself. He looks up to those athletes who have really started from the bottom and succeeded in their chosen sport. Off the field he is inspired by his family, who believe in him always. His coaches also play a big part in inspiring Eli to always give his best. Eli has big dreams and knows what it takes to make it.
One moment that made me proud was when his team was down with little time left. Instead of getting frustrated or giving up, Eli stepped up as a leader. He encouraged his team to play til the last second. He kept the energy up and made key plays to turn the momentum around. Win or lose, he is always encouraging and puts his team first.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
