Emma loves taking on challenges and being able to overcome them. Whether it's PRing in track or getting around opponents for a touchdown. It's just about having something to work hard for. Regardless of the outcome, she loves the whole process. But nothing excites her more than being part of a team. Being able to create strong bonds and working with teammates towards one common goal. She loves the idea of leveraging individual strengths to accomplish more than when doing something alone.
It's not any one particular person on or off the field, but a collective group that inspires Emma to do what she does. From an instructor, to coach, a parent or teammate, it's their belief in her and her abilities that inspires her to push forward, to stay resilient, to challenge herself and to never give up. And it's this type of support from others that makes her want to always do her best to lead by example and in turn somehow inspire those around her.
Our proudest moment in Emma's athletic journey was watching her participate at Worlds Taekwondo and receive gold in Hong Kong this past year. What made it so special was being able to watch everything unfold and come to fruition for her. It wasn't necessarily about medaling, but moreso about what it encompassed. How this moment signified a culmination of years of dedication, hard work and sacrifice. But most importantly, it was about being able to achieve this all while representing the USA.
