Thank you for generously supporting Emma in this year’s competition. Your support helps empower the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Why Not You Foundation in their respective missions to save lives and empower today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
Emma loves to dance. It’s where she feels free to express herself. If she’s having a bad day dance sets her free.
Emma has had many mentors in her life but there are two that truly stick out. First one is coach Joshua. Emma trained with Josh for about two years. In that time frame he taught about mental and physical health. He is truly a gift. The next one is her dance teacher Miss Ashley Ferraro. Miss Ashley plays a big role in Emma’s life. She taught her to work hard and never give up. Emma holds these two special people in her heart no matter where she is whether it be in a gym or on I gotta ge stage.
The moment that made me the proudest is when after a dance competition she got in the car and said I don’t care if I place anymore. She finally let it go that it didn’t matter and that dancing sets you free. The competitive side of dance world can sometimes eat you up and spit you out. I’m also truly blessed of the person Emma is becoming. I love to see the growth in her every year. It’s a beautiful journey to watch.
