Hanging out with my teammates and cheering them on at swim meets but qualifying individually during races. Soon as I hit the water everything around me goes quiet and it’s just me in the water, no distractions, just me using my technique that I’ve learnt through our season. Competitive swimming isn’t just swimming laps it’s working on drills, technique, starts, turns, pacing, breathing. We are constantly pushing their bodies and minds to the limit.
My head coach! He used to swim competitively and was fast! He is always encouraging us to keep going!
My proudest moment from competitive swimming was last year getting medals at every meet and was recognized as the most improved swimmer in my category from our club.
