What my child loves most about playing is the feeling of constant growth and improvement. They enjoy pushing themselves to be better every time they step onto the field or court. It’s not just about winning for them—though that’s definitely a bonus—but about setting a new personal best, mastering a difficult skill, or achieving a goal they once thought was out of reach. Another thing they love is the sense of camaraderie with teammates. There’s something special about working together.
Off the field, my child is deeply inspired by the idea of becoming the best version of themselves—both as an athlete and as a person. They draw inspiration from role models who work hard, show kindness, and never give up, like their favorite athletes or even coaches who lead by example. They often say that they want to be someone others look up to, not just for their skills, but for their character and work ethic.
One moment that stands out to me was during a major tournament where my child was having a tough game. The team was down by several points, and it seemed like things weren’t going in their favor. But instead of letting frustration take over, my child stepped up, took responsibility, and motivated their teammates. They encouraged everyone to stay focused, reminded them of their strengths, and refused to give up.
