Ethan loves to run, because he believes distance running is one of the hardest sports mentally and physically. He loves traveling to meets, meeting new people and seeing how far he can push himself. He enjoys the mental challenge of battling himself most days, and feeling the growth and expanding potential- in mind and body.
Ethan is inspired by his coaches, Evan and Simon Thorpe. They inspire him by giving him the time, effort and dedication to make him a valuable opponent and help guide him into becoming a genuinely good person. Ethan truly realizes how lucky and blessed he is to have them mentoring and training him. They push Ethan to be better DAILY and they give him the best of the best when it comes to building his character and physique.
I have to say, the proudest moment I have seen from Ethan, was when he didn’t place where he wanted at New Balance Nationals. I saw him change from someone who would beat himself up, to learn from his mistakes and move forward. He realized he doesn’t have to win every race to be one of the best. Winning is more than first place, it’s who you are whether you’re in 1st place or 15th place- it’s how you accept and grow from when you cross the finish line. Ethan learned and grew from this loss.
