What he loves about swimming is the challenges he faces and how he's able to go out of his comfort zone to overcome them. He also likes how he makes consistent progress and seeing that he always gets better at his craft.

One moment that made me proudest was when his relay team missed their mark to start and my son thought fast and was able to persuade an USA Swimming official to let his team swim the very last heat of that particular event so they don't get disqualified. He also saved them from getting their butt chewed by the coach.
