You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
Eugene lives to push himself past his limits. He’s constantly seeking constructive criticism so that he can improve himself in every way possible and to him there’s no better way to do that than through sports.
His primary motivation is his niece Leilana. She was born during the pandemic and his mother stepped in to help his sister raise her. He is very close with his now 6 year old niece and she looks up to him. He takes pride in showing her the man he is becoming.
When Eugene was a sophomore playing jv for his highschool he was invited to play for the state championship. His team won that year. His junior year he played varsity, was invited again but he lost. He admitted that he was happy he lost because it kept him from getting arrogant, and reminded him that any point someone could be better than you. I could see the fire reignited within him and felt immense pride.
