You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
His team, his coach, being outside on a mountain, the speed, pushing himself to be the best he can be, having a sense of belonging, the satisfaction and sense of achievement when he learns something new, the way it makes him feel to be on a mountain on a snowboard, he's never wanted to be anywhere else.
He’s inspired on the snow by Mark McMorris, whose creativity, style, and resilience after major injuries show him that setbacks are part of success. Watching riders his age push new limits also fuels his drive. Off the snow, we as his parents inspire him through our support and work ethic, teaching him to stay humble, determined, and true to his passion. He looks up to people who never give up on what they love.
Im proud of his dedication, he's never complained, even when he can barely walk from exhaustion. We're not rich people and this is a rich persons sport - but we do what we can to support him with his passion, and he is doing everything he can to prove himself to the world. I've never seen someone as dedicated to their sport more than he is. Its everything to him, no matter what, and that's really something to see.
