What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Gabbi loves being active, she loves pushing herself to the limit. She enjoys the wins but also the losses as the loss helps her evaluate how to get her opponent next time. Gabbi loves that wrestling and boxing build confidence, girls embrace one another with a hug after the match (win or loose)! When wrestling boys, she loves breaking the stigma that girls are weaker then boys. She doesnt stop and has learned to discipline her body along with pushing past her limits!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Gabbi says for wrestling her dad, Jared Amoroso, Corry Coach, Greg Murphy, Coach Dwight Damcott and Coach Wellner. They inspire her with the compassion and love they have for wrestling, the give their all for their wrestlers and continue to push us even when we are tired. They are there with us, Building us up on and off the mat, at practices and at home. If it wasn't for Coach Baldy and Coach Adam, I would never of known the love I have for wrestling that makes me hungry to train hard daily.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

As parents are proudest moments of Gabriella is her dedication and determination. One time at a wrestling tournament, she ended up "head-butting" another girl, the girl was bleeding everywhere and needed to get stitches and ended up with a concussion. Gabriella cried so much; not bc she was hurt, only for the reasoning of "I didnt mean to hurt her mom?" She shows empathy & courage in all areas of wrestling. When her opponent was hurt, she didnt care about the win, she cared about her being well.
