"I love the thrill and excitement of the game. Playing baseball honestly gets my blood flowing. It's also a huge family tradition that l love being a part of as every male on my dad's side of the family has played baseball growing up. I love it most because baseball is a sport of failure- always challenging me and building my character on and off the field. Baseball is my life. I live it and breathe it every day and when I'm not at practice I need to be touching a baseball or bat at home."
“My family inspires me because I want to make them proud of me, especially my mom. I have a twin sister who is also very involved in her sport and my mom always makes her own schedule around our practice schedules, games, and tournaments. I want my mom to know how much I appreciate her in doing everything she can to help make my baseball dreams come true! She is at every game and if she’s not she’s watching me from my sister’s game. She can definitely be in two places at once! I love her!”
Garrett was catching and the pitcher on his team was new to select ball coming from little league where rules can be different. He kept getting called on baulks and didn’t understand what he was doing wrong because no one would explain it. He truly looked defeated. Garrett had called a time out to walk over to him and demonstrated what he needed to correct. Not only was his teammate grateful, but so were their parents. Garrett is a compassionate leader on and off the field.
