Baseball is Garrison’s favorite sport because it combines skill, strategy, and leadership. His favorite position is shortstop where he feels most involved, leading the infield during times of need. Theres nothing better than seeing him deliver a clutch hit when his team needs it most. On base, his speed is an advantage, letting him steal bases and keep the defense.
My son is and has always been inspired by his Pop Pop - my dad. As a single mom, I’ve watched my father step in as a steady presence. He encouraged my son to start baseball. He’s been at every game, cheering him on, supporting him on and off the field. Pop pop didn’t just encourage him to play baseball, he showed him what it means to play with heart.
The proudest moment was his first hit at age 10, in the last game of the season. He started not knowing the game, but worked so hard and grew with every practice. In that moment, I saw his confidence bloom and his love for baseball take root. All the effort, the learning, the heart he poured in, it all came together in that one unforgettable swing.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
