What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Gary loves football because it allows him to channel his strength, discipline, and competitive drive to dominate his opponent within the rules of the game. It’s the ultimate test of strategy, physicality, and mental toughness

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Tyler Booker and Trent Williams. Tyler because of his academic excellence in the classroom. He’s disciplined and hardworking. He sets the standard I strive to reach. Trent because he’s a dawg. His dominance on the field and integrity off the field.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments as a parent wasn’t when Gary got invited to FBU Top Gun—but when things didn’t go as he’d hoped. Despite the disappointment, he didn’t sulk or shut down. He congratulated his peers, cheered them on, and held his head high. That’s the kind of man he’s becoming—one who shows heart, humility, and grace, even when it hurts.
