Genesis loves seeing the payoff after a tough practice, it makes all the hard work and effort worth it. She’s all about the thrill of competition and really enjoys the friendships and support that come with being part of the Indiana Storm Track Club. Racing creates confidence, bravery, and a sense of accomplishment.
Genesis gets her inspiration from her mom and dad. Off the track, they show her what it means to work hard, stay positive, and never give up. Her mom teaches her strength and kindness. She reminds her to believe in herself and that her dedication in track will always have an outcome of greatness. Her dad shows her what dedication looks like. Whether it's helping her with school or running beside her at practice, he’s always pushing her to keep going.
Genesis earned her way to the USATF Junior Olympics and that was such an amazing opportunity! During her 200-meter race at Texas A&M, the weather took a wild turn and it started pouring rain right before she ran. She had to stand out there in the middle of the rain storm, but she stayed strong and focused. Even with the rough conditions, she ran her heart out and came out as an All-American! Through the rain and all the unknowns, Genesis kept a big smile on her face and competed like a champion!
