My youngest son Gibson is an extremely talented athlete who plays four sports and has competed against two older brothers since he was 2.

Gibson enjoys the competition, the physical activity, and the camaraderie of sports. He plays soccer, football, basketball, and baseball. He has watched two older brothers play multiple sports, his grandfather was in Major League Baseball for 50+ years, and his parents are both athletes. The competitive spirit runs deep in his family. His favorite sport is basketball.
Gibson says he finds inspiration from Stephen Curry because he is such a great basketball player. Watching how he shoots, dribbles, creates space, and is such a phenomenal playmaker, inspires Gibson to work hard. Steph's faith and positive demeanor are also inspiring, along with the fact that he is not some freak of nature in stature. He is an average size guy doing monumental things for the game of basketball.
It is hard to pick out one moment that makes me proudest. Gibson is a joy to watch. I would say maybe I am most proud of the fact that after suffering a grueling injury in baseball to his eye, he had the courage to come back. He generally plays shortstop or pitcher. A hard ground ball took a bad hop on a dirt field and hit him in the face. The injury was gruesome and very scary. Although, he was a little gun shy for a few games, he overcame that fear and has been playing great since.
