Swimming allows me to spend time and have fun with friends while growing as an athlete and competitor. It has an aspect of individuality in races while still maintaining team competition in relays and overall points. It’s a sport where some of your fiercest competitors in the pool are also your best friends and training partners. I enjoy doing well for my team, myself, and my family. It also is one of the few sports that as a result of learning it could save your life or the life of others.
My parents inspire me outside of the pool as they are a large reason why I have been successful in the pool. My mom always makes sure I get where I need to go and am fueled with the best nutrition. My dad provides me with the best in opportunities and equipment to succeed, and they both are my biggest cheerleaders. My biggest inspirations in the pool are Gretchen Walsh and Katie Ledecky. They are amazing swimmers and excellent role models. They are fiercely competitive at the highest level.
She won several swimming championships in several states across the United States, but the moment in the pool that makes me the proudest was her CW team sweeping gold in all four relays in the 2025 Michigan state long course championships. This feat made me the proudest because it showed, not only how strong and versatile she is in the pool, but how strong and versatile her teammates are, and how well they work together.
