Wrestling pushes Gunner to his limits mentally and physically. Wrestling has taught him true grit, hard work, and how to be disciplined. With football he loves being part of a team and the tight brothers he gains.
Off the mat my parents definitely inspire me the most. They have shown me what it takes to be the best from the right things to put in my body to what kind of work ethic you need. They inspire me because without them I wouldn’t have had the opportunities that I had to go and compete and chase my dreams.
Sophmore year he broke his ankle during the season and the Dr. told him his season was over. Gunner was determined to heal up and get back on the mat. Sure enough he did right before regionals. Lots of patience, grit, and mental toughness but he made it. We were so proud of his drive and love for the sport. Loved watching him do his thing to get on that podium at state overcoming a broken ankle and all the challenges that came with it to get to 100% recovery.
