Lacrosse is often called the medicine game, and for my son, it has truly lived up to that name. Life has handed him more than his fair share of struggles, but when he’s on the field, the weight of the world seems to lift. Lacrosse asks for nothing but effort—it doesn’t judge, it doesn’t question. It simply gives him the space to breathe, to heal, and to find peace in the game he loves.
My dad inspires me every day. Since I was 10 years old, he’s stood by my side—not just teaching me how to play lacrosse, but shaping me into the person I am, both on and off the field. From the very beginning, he’s believed in me and pushed me to be my best. My mom has done the same in her own way. She’s given me everything I’ve needed to grow into the young man I am today. Her sacrifices—many of them unseen—are the reason I’ve come this far. I carry them with me every time I step on the field.
It’s hard to pick just one moment that makes me the proudest, because with Holden, it’s not about a single play or game—it’s about who he is every day. His drive, persistence, and determination to grow, both mentally and physically, leave me in awe. He plays with his whole heart, never holding back. And when it seems like he has nothing left to give, somehow, he finds more. That’s the kind of person—and player—he is.
