What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Hunter loves the camaraderie of his teammates, the physical fitness and health, and the feeling of accomplishment in a sport. As a child with Aspergers (high functioning), it has brought him out of his shell to shine bright, but his love for people has him shining his light to encourage those around him in all aspects.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

The people that inspire Hunter on the field are his coaches, who always tell him what he is doing, right or wrong, and how to grow to become even better. Off the field, It is his mom, his number one fan, who supports him. She backs up the coaches with advice and helps him find as much opportunity for him as possible.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Watching Hunter encourage his teammates makes my heart soar. But the proudest moment was never on the field, but off the field during practice. When a fellow teammate needed cleats, and he found his friend was the same shoe size, Hunter did not hesitate to let me know. The duplicate pair we got by accident, he was going to donate to his friend. As both boys are 16 and over 6 feet, Hunter also helped his teammate tie his shoes when he needed help.
