What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Isaac loves that he can work hard and be part of a team. Without sled hockey he would not be able to have that experience, so he is very grateful for the opportunity to play. He also loves that he can use his knowledge of hockey to help younger players grow their skill and love for the game of hockey. Camaraderie is another reason that Isaac loves the game of hockey. He is able to make connections and lifelong friendships through the sport that he otherwise would not have had.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Isaac is inspired by his dad both on and off of the field due to his amazing work ethic and determination. Isaac says the reason he is so inspired by his father is due to him working sometimes 90 hours a week and able to provide for our family. It is really difficult to work that much but his father's dedication to his job and family push Isaac to be better himself.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

There is not one moment that makes me the proudest, but the first one that comes to mind is when he tried the sport for the first time. Being on a team is important for everyone, it teaches lifelong lessons, and we were disappointed that he may not have that opportunity. When Isaac was 7, we found a program where he could be part of a team and make friends. It was a huge leap of faith to try something new and out of our comfort zone. We are proud and thankful for the experience he has had.
