Learning. Each and every time I am on the track I learn something new. I am learning the mechanics behind what I am driving and able to give the right feedback to my dad. We then can work together to adjust anything needed to help me get faster. I love that this isn’t a team sport like many other sports, but my team is my mechanic (dad), my sponsors that support me, my family that encourages me, and my fans for believing in me each race.
I look up to many of the Professional racers in both Snocross and Champ Off-Road racing. I know you need mental clarity, physical fitness, the drive to win, and the ability to work on the machine. Races are won before you even get to the track. I watch the racers who train, connect with the youth, and offer advice to make me a better racer. I most look up to my dad though. He is so smart and spends so many hours on my machines making sure they safe for me to race and fast to get me on the box.
There was one snocross final in Eagle River, WI that I was just not feeling it. It was raining heavy (yes, rain in winter). I was in my head and nervous, in a final with a lot of fast kids. I looked at my dad and said “I’m just going to pick a line, stay in it and hope for the best!” Well, I pulled the hole shot, lead the whole race and WON!!! I almost gave up that day.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
