Jacoby has always seemed to love a challenge. He will push and work hard until he has mastered each skill. Even when it doesn’t come naturally, or is difficult he gives his best effort and does not give up. He also loves the team mentality. With Jacoby, it is never about him individually, but the team and its successes as a whole.
Jacoby has an older brother and 4 younger siblings, that I feel inspire him the most to be the best he can be both on and off of the field. He has always looked up to his older brother, which is the reason I feel he has learned to push himself and knows that his younger sister and brother look up to him which pushed him to be the best role model, student and teammate that he can be.
Jacoby had an injury this past year that could have prevented him from playing sports again, while I am incredibly proud of the effort he put in to healing and preparing his body to return, I am most proud of his positive attitude the entire time. His whole life was changed for 9 months, but he kept an upbeat attitude, continued to smile and remained on the sidelines for his teammates.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
