“I love playing flag football because it’s super fun. I like learning new plays and working with my teammates—it feels good when we all do our part and score together. It’s also helped me build confidence, and I’ve made some really good friends on the team. Every game is exciting, and I love the challenge of trying to get better. Flag football just makes me happy!”
Since starting football, Jalea has been inspired by CeeDee Lamb and she also wears the number 88 to show her respect for him and the Dallas Cowboys as a tribute to the legacy of legendary receivers who have worn that number before them including Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin, and Dez Bryant. Jalea admired that CeeDee continued to play through his shoulder injury until he couldn’t anymore and is excited for this upcoming season!
My most proud moment is when she made the “All Pro” team during her first year playing flag football. It brings me joy seeing her out there on the field smiling and enjoying the game she loves most.
