For Jamal, basketball is more than a game. He loves how it keeps him focused and motivated while bringing our family together. He also enjoys playing with teammates, meeting new people, and having fun on the court.
His biggest inspiration is his late brother Jamari. They shared a love for basketball, and losing him made Jamal more determined. He plays in his honor, carrying his memory through every game, pushing himself to be great for both of them.
Seeing Jamal win MVP on his first AAU team made me so proud, but what touches me most is how he helped lead National Teachers Academy to a city championship in 8th grade and Simeon to city championships his freshman and sophomore year. He plays with purpose.
