What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Jamerson, the youngest of seven, is deeply committed to his faith, family, & football. He finds immense joy in the camaraderie of a team. Jamerson believes that being a part of a team is akin to being a member of a family—support. Football has a profound impact on him, making him feel more alive, alert, & productive. J’s a rare soul deeply rooted & passionate about football, an exceptional player & a true leader. Possesses a calm demeanor, slow to anger, and is quick to respond w/confidence.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

The family, teammates, coaches, and even sports personalities across various genres play distinct roles in inspiring J. We affectionately refer to him as Big Bear, and he embodies the essence of a bear—protective! If I had to pinpoint one person who inspires him most, it would be his Dad. Despite his Dad’s health challenges, J witnesses his unwavering determination to face life’s challenges every morning. This experience instills in J the importance of persevering through any circumstances.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I attend all of my son’s games. One particular game they were trailing by a significant margin. I yelled across the field, “Don’t let them score another touchdown!” Despite being in the losing position, I believe that one statement rallied all of the defensive players to maintain the score & prevent the opponents from scoring another touchdown. J began the assault & the team succeeded in doing so for the rest of the game. Sometimes, a little bit of encouragement can go a long way!
