What James loves most about sports is the trill of competition, the joy of being part of a team, and the challenge of pushing himself to be better everyday. Whether it’s wrestling, football, soccer, or baseball, he gives his all with a smile on his face. His dedication, heart, and love for all the games are unmatched. He simply lives for the moment he gets to play.
James draws his inspiration from his father one of the coaches at Bartlesville Wrestling club as well as coaches Seth, Mark, David, and Dustin who have helped shape his skills and mindset. James aspires to one day reach the level of Bo Bassett, a national wrestling icon, and works tirelessly toward that goal.
At the 2025 OKUSA YWL State championship, James faced a tough opponent in the finals. With calm focus and explosive technique, he secured a pin in the second period to claim the Division 2 State Title. But what stood out most wasn’t just the win it was what happened after. James immediately helped his opponent up, gave him a hug, and told him, “you did a great job.” That moment captured the heart of everyone watching. When James wins he is always there to bring up his opponent.
