What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Caden has been blessed with some amazing coaches - club teams, middle school & Team TX 14u National team - they’ve all stressed one main goal - to become the best version of yourself on and off the mat. The thing he loves the most about the sport of wrestling is his “community” coaches, team mates & other families supporting him, encouraging him to be the best he can be. He knows he will have ups & downs & wins & losses, but knowing he has a support system gives him the drive to never give up.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

The person that inspires Caden the most is his older brother, Jackson. Jackson understands the sport and what it requires. & has helped coach and guide Caden through not only the skills of wrestling, but the mental toughness required to keep going. Off the mat, Jackson is persuing his veterinary degree and has shown Caden that when you put in the work to follow your passion, you can reach your goals!

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One moment I am proud of Caden for is this past year at the National Duals. He was having an off day, wasn’t wrestling like himself & couldn’t find his flow & he still had one more day of wrestling to get through. I am proud of him for being able to shake off the mistakes of that day & dig deep to fight hard on the last day. Wrestling has taught him life skills - that no matter what, you keep working hard - if you get knocked down, you learn from that mistake, get back up & go again.
