I love the competitiveness. It is physically healing and mentally. You have to stay focused, resilient, and learn how to bounce back from mistakes quickly. I love the pure joy you get when a shot leaves your fingers and you know it is going through the net or when you split the defense with a dime pass to a teammate for them to score.”
Jeremiah states - “First God. He has given me the strength and ability to play basketball. Second, my Mom. She is a tough basketball player herself but she also spends so much of her time training me, rebounding for me and motivating me. Coach Brad Ives at Bark River. He inspired me to be a leader on the court. The whole Bark River school inspired me. I was homeschooled and they allowed me to play for them while doing school online. They asked me to play up 8th grade as well. It was amazing.”
During school ball season, he had just scored 17 points - 7 assists - 5 steals against a tough team. 100% at the line. I was really proud of him that night but I didn’t realize I would be even more proud the next game. The next game he told us right before the game that it was an easy team and for the minutes he was in, he planned to set his teammates up to score and he wasn’t going to shoot this game. It was a very humble thing to watch him do. Jeremiah wants everyone to succeed!!!
