I love basketball because it gives me a way to express myself without saying a word. When I’m on the court, everything else fades—stress, problems, noise. It’s just me, the ball, and the game. I love the rhythm of it: the bounce, the movement, the teamwork, the feeling when the shot hits nothing but net. It challenges me to get better every time I play, and I never get tired of that.

No one was around when I beat my brother in basketball, but it still made me feel proud and happy. He’s older and usually wins, so finally getting that W meant a lot. It showed me that all the practice I’ve been putting in is paying off. Even without a crowd, that moment felt big to me—like I proved something to myself.
